August 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,

The first day of school is quickly approaching.  We are to provide full-day, full-time, in person instruction. The administration and staff of John Fenwick Academy are working diligently to open our school under the most unusual of circumstances due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic.  As we continue to prepare for the first day on Friday, September 3rd, 2021, we resolve to make the health and well-being of your child(ren) our priority.

Based on the most recent information provided to us by the NJDOE The Road Forward and the CDC (Center for Disease Control) documents, we will adhere to the following protocols:

Face Covering:

First and foremost, all staff and students must wear a proper face mask and practice social distancing while on campus. Please review previous mailed documents.

Health Screening

“The Google form for Daily Health Screening will be used this school year. This will be replacing the daily Qualtrics screening from last year.

This screening will be emailed to all students and staff at 4am every school day. The survey format is set and ready to go.

By 7:00am each morning, all students and staff must complete the Health Screening.  Students and staff that have negative outcome, will not be allowed entry into the building. (Please review previous mailed documents.)

Assigned administration and/or staff will monitor each location.  Again, staff will only allow students entry into the building if they were cleared by Health Screenings.

Breakfast and Lunch:

Students will be provided breakfast and lunch in their classrooms.  Metz Culinary Services will implement proper protocol and procedures for food delivery.

Additional Personal Safety Protocols:

Parents are not allowed in the building unless they have an appointment – no exceptions.  Students will be responsible for their own personal sanitizing by using the following materials supplied by the district:  hand sanitizing stations outside every classroom; soap and water in all bathrooms/classrooms and disinfectant wipes for desks, chairs, computers, etc.  Water fountains cannot be used, but we will have supply of disposable cups for students.
