Salem High School's Class of 2017 commencement (PHOTOS)

SALEM -- Members of Salem High School's Class of 2017 received their diplomas Tuesday evening at the school's 142nd annual commencement.

The ceremony was held on the lawn at the high school on Walnut Street.

The graduates, dressed in caps and gowns of white and blue, received cheers and applause from the large crowd gathered outdoors on the warm night.

The 69 graduates earned a total of $2.1 million in scholarships and awards.
